Currently in beta and accepting 15 signups a day.
PS, if you haven’t checked out Where’s Cool yet, please do! Placefav lives on over there, so to speak, and I’m also an adviser.

Where's Cool
An announcement about Placefav and Where’s Cool is forthcoming. (Hint: Placefav got gobbled up in to Where’s Cool, and Kyle joined their advisory board.)

Placefav is sleeping.
I’ve put development on hold and temporarily shuttered the site while I get a better hosting setup in order.

We haven’t gone anywhere, we’re just busy working on some really excellent stuff. Stay tuned.
Updates
We rolled out a bunch of minor tweaks today:
Generally tightened up Placefav’s user interface (mostly whitespace, etc.)
Simplified the site’s color palette
Infrastructure improvements in preparation for some bigger features coming soon
You can now flag photos for a place as irrelevant or offensive—just click the flag icon at the bottom-right of the photo
One thing...
We're on Twitter
Did you know Placefav is on Twitter? It’s true! We post more frequently over there, so why not follow us?
Wow!
The last few days have been incredible. Mashable covered us, Rubin recommended us, and a new partnership is in the works (more about that soon).
I am incredibly appreciative of all of your feedback thus far, and am working ‘round the clock to keep Placefav the best place to track and share your favorite places.
We’ll be spending the next week or so beefing up our server...

New Feature: Page titles!
Your settings page now has a Title section; you can change your page title from the default “username / location” to anything you want!
New Feature: Flickr photos
We’re now pulling geotagged Flickr photos for every place you add. These are way more accurate than the Panoramio ones (although support for that is staying put for now), so we’ve phased those out.
Enjoy!
New Feature: Maps on your page
One of the most requested features for Placefav was to show a map directly on your page, the same way we display photos inline. I’m happy to report that your page will now display a map for each of your places (as long as we can find it, of course!)
And if you haven’t signed up yet, sign up today!
